USGS Northeastern Coastal Ecosystem and Resources Workshop
January 7 & 8, 2003

Narragansett, RI

Welcome

Narragansett Bay with the Institute’s research vessel in the foreground and the Bay Bridge in the background.

The Organizing Committee for the USGS Northeastern Coastal Ecosystems and Resources Workshop welcomes you to Narragansett, Rhode Island, and the University of Rhode Island Coastal Institute.

When committee members made a site visit, we were struck by the beauty of the setting looking across Narragansett Bay with the Institute’s research vessel in the foreground and the Bay Bridge in the background.  This setting is a microcosm of the issues we hope to explore and inspiration for the science plan we will write.

We thank Peter August for not only the offer of this facility for the meeting, but also for the generous sharing of resources needed to run this workshop (copiers, printers, projection equipment, lap tops and so on).  Enjoy the dynamic learning setting with interactive exhibits.  Tuesday and Wednesday, around lunchtime, the bookstore/gift shop will be open.  Remember to sign up for tours of area laboratories when you register.

We look forward to lively discussion and getting to know you better.
